Titanium Material Overview

Titanium is about 40% lighter than steel and combines a high strength-to-weight ratio with excellent corrosion resistance. RapidDirect machines commercially pure titanium grades TA1 and TA2, as well as TC4 (Ti-6Al-4V), for aerospace, automotive, medical, and energy applications.

  • Lightweight strength: Titanium delivers high strength at about 40% less weight than steel.
  • Corrosion resistance: Titanium performs well in demanding environments, including marine and chemical applications.
  • Biocompatible: Titanium is widely used for medical and dental components.
  • Pure and alloyed grades: Choose commercially pure TA1 or TA2, or the stronger TC4 (Ti-6Al-4V) alloy.

Selection note: Titanium offers low thermal expansion and non-magnetic performance, making it a strong choice for demanding components where low weight, durability, and corrosion resistance matter.
