SLM 17-4PH in SLM 3D Printing
SLM 17-4PH stainless steel is a precipitation-hardening alloy for high-strength structural parts. Aging heat treatment develops its strength and hardness for aerospace, precision machinery, and industrial tooling.
- High strength: 17-4PH delivers strength for structural and high-load components.
- Age hardenable: Aging heat treatment develops its mechanical strength and hardness.
- Complex parts: SLM builds intricate geometries and integrated components.
Selection note: Overhangs above 45° reduce support needs. Use teardrop or diamond-shaped channels for internal passages larger than 8 mm. Keep functional walls at least 0.5 mm thick and add fillets of R0.5 mm or larger.
