PAI (Torlon) in CNC Machining
Polyamide-imide (PAI), known commercially as Torlon, is a high-performance thermoplastic that combines high strength, thermal stability, wear performance, and chemical resistance. RapidDirect CNC machines PAI grades 4203, 4503, 4301, and 4501 for bearings, seals, electrical connectors, and structural components.
- High strength: PAI supports demanding structural and mechanical components.
- Thermal stability: The material is suitable for elevated-temperature environments.
- Wear resistance: PAI performs in bearings and other parts exposed to repeated contact.
- Chemical resistance: PAI resists many chemicals used in demanding applications.
Selection note: PAI is suited to components exposed to mechanical stress, wear, heat, and demanding operating conditions. CNC machining supports precise custom parts.
